Active Ageing Project
The Louth Active Ageing Project is a leading community programme supporting adults aged 50+ to live healthier, more connected lives. Established in 2021 by Louth County Council’s Sports Staff, it has grown into an initiative offering 10 tailored programmes and 17 weekly sessions, engaging more than 400+ regular participants. Delivered in partnership with local health professionals and community organisations, the project combines evidence-based fitness classes with opportunities for social connection, helping older adults improve mobility, strength, and confidence while reducing isolation. With its innovative approach and measurable impact, the Active Ageing Project has become a trusted model for promoting healthy ageing and community wellbeing.
