Child Safeguarding

Children are vulnerable to various forms of abuse. Parents or guardians have primary responsibility for the care and protection of their children. However, Louth County Council has a responsibility to ensure the protection and safeguarding of children participating in any Council activities.

Louth County Council considers that we are a relevant authority under the Children’s First Act, 2015 and have adopted the attached Child Safeguarding Statement.

The statement sets out the principles and procedures to be observed to ensure, as far as possible, that children availing of Louth County Council Sports Unit services are safe from harm.
